Post 10, He’s a Foot Dog

Why do dogs lick feet? Does your dog go after your foot like Homer Simpson goes after a doughnut? Like a deer going after a salt lick?

Your dog may lick you to say they love you, to get your attention, to help soothe themselves, to groom you, and possibly because they are born with a gene that gives them foot fetishes.

My mom once got offered 40 bucks at a gas station if she would let a guy kiss her feet. She said no, which was impressive because we were dirt poor at the time. I like to think that I would say no, but who knows as Tina Belcher says, “In this economy?!” My feet aren’t pretty like they used to be but Schnuggie loves them and me. It can be awkward as he will lick my feet for what can feel like hours.

Does your dog lick your feet? Do you let them or do you say, Get away kid, you bother me?
